Cardiopulmonary Rehab

Carnswell Medical Center Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program is designed to help improve patient lung and heart function. Patients can expect a thorough medical evaluation and a monitored, prescribed exercise course. This is complemented by recommended lifestyle changes from diet to at-home exercise plans as well as education. 

Cardiac rehab is an exercise program supervised by skilled nurses. As patients progress through their prescribed treatment, they will have a better chance of returning to a more active lifestyle with a decreased risk for future problems.  This includes patients who have experienced or are at risk for the following heart conditions:

  • Congestive Heart Failure

  • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery

  • Myocardial Infarction

  • Coronary Angioplasty or Stent Procedures

  • Stable Angina

  • Valve Repair or Replacement

  • Ventricular Assist Devices

  • Cardiac Transplantation

Pulmonary rehab is designed for patients with chronic respiratory conditions, helping increase lung capacity and decrease symptoms. This includes patients who have experienced or are at risk for the following respiratory conditions:

  • Bronchiectasis

  • Chronic Bronchitis

  • COPD

  • Cystic Fibrosis

  • Emphysema

  • Interstitial Lung Disease

  • Lung Cancer

  • Lung Volume Reduction Surgery
